"Well well girlie... are you going to try your luck? Or are you afraid to end up like your friends?" the monsterous figure boomed to his opponent, a violet haired girl that held a large glaive in her hands. The girl looked at him and raised the glaive within her hand to invoke her powers. "Death Reborn..." she intoned, the destructive power in the weapon resonating. The monster eyed her carefully. If the reports were true, this must be the attack that would destroy everything. "Revolution." The last word was almost whispered, an eerie silence sweeping over the landscape. Then, an explosion of hundreds of violet ribbons ripped into life from the girl as the attack ran its course. "Nooo...." This gasp came from Eternal Sailor Moon, who was fighting to stay conscious ever since the enemy knocked her down. Then, all went dark. Nothing could be seen. Nothing at all. Not even the glows of the Garnet Orb or the Silver Crystal, which had reacted without their owners knowing. =========================================================================== Magictech Productions Presents... A Slayers and Sailor Moon Crossover... Slayers REVOLUTION Another unlikely crossover from the minds of Shaun Garin and WarChild... And as usual, nothing here belongs to us. If they did, we'd be rich! Author's Note: Here's another experimental series from the duo of Magictech Productions. The fic will be primary taking place in the Slayers world and be centered on the Slayers characters, but there will be small interludes where we check up on the Sailor Senshi. But now... on with the show... =========================================================================== Episode 1: The Dark Dream! The Weapon of Death Unveiled... =========================================================================== "Now hold still... you do want me to heal your injuries, little boy?" "But it hurts... it hurst real bad." "But if you don't hold still, I won't be able to help you. Do you want me to help you?" "Yes please, just make the pain go away." Sylphiel smiled as she cleaned out the wound with a herbal mixture and then applied a healing spell to seal the cut. "Now, there. The pain's all gone now. Just don't hurt yourself again, young man," she warned in a motherly tone. "Aw... you're now sounding like mommy," whined the little boy. Sylphiel giggled as she showed him to the door. "Now go on, and play safe." With that the little boy ran off to join his friends. He showed off his now healed arm, and they all ran off to have fun. The dark haired shrine maiden sighed as she watched the boy leave. It seemed to her like it was yesterday that Sairrag was a pile of rubble. It was about more than a scant year and half, when Phibrizo created that ghost town of Sairagg to lure Lina and her friend for the final confrontation. It was all part is disasterous scheme to destroy the world with the most powerful spell in existance, the Giga Slave. Obviously, it had backfired on him, as she, like many others who had participated in the final battle, were alive. Yes, Phibrizo did eventually goad Lina into casting that spell, and it did went out of control. But something unexpect happened, something that not even Phibrizo had planned for. The Lord of Nightmares then possessed Lina, and promptly erased the Hellmaster from existance. As Lina casted the spell for the purpose of saving Gourry, the Golden Lord deemed it necessary to take Lina back to where all thing claimed by the Lord of Nightmares go, the Sea of Chaos. Gourry wouldn't have it. He wouldn't let the Lord of Nightmares take Lina away. No one really knew what happened in the Sea of Chaos, but Sylphiel had her suspicions But for whatever reason Lina and Gourry, both having been in the Sea of Chaos, had returned. And they returned in an assumingly... ahem... comprimising position. One, Sylphiel thought privately, looked good for them. Knock knock knock. "Hello. Miss Lahda? I have letters for you." Sylphiel answered the door. After paying the boy for delivery, she started to persue through the gathered letters. "Ano... looks like Lina's finally gotten to writing something." Flip. Flip. "And Amelia." Flip. "And Zelgadis?" With that she promptly opened Lina's letter first. Surely Gourry was traveling with Lina still and thus Lina would know how he's doing. =========================================================================== Dear Sylphiel, Yatta! After months and months of traveling I finally have the time to write down a good long letter. I know it's been a way long time, but there is so many things that happened so quickly. I haven't taken time to stop. After all, if there bandits around, I'll bust them good. Anyway, I guess I'll begin with a question. Remember the defeat of Phibrizo? As you probably know the Demon's barrier that surrounded our part of the world was now broken, allowing for outside contact to be possible. Well, it was about eight months later. Gourry and I were going about buisness as usual, taking out bandit gangs that hung out in the coastal regions when I got this strange letter. We quickly met up with Zelgadis who was scoping out ships bounded for the new world, and shortly after, we met this Dragon Priestess named Filia, although we didn't know she was a dragon at the moment. About this time, Amelia was with her father, who was meeting in the same town we happened to be in with a bunch kings and lords and other rulers. With that barrier down, everybody was now seeing this large pillar of golden light that seemed to be right in the middle of the ocean. No one knew what it was... yet. Because of this everybody thought is was a sign of some sorts, and mostly likely a very bad one. And thus Prince Phil funded a large expedition to scout the outer world. Of course, things didn't go well as Filia decided to 'Test' us by attacking the town. Things went a bit wierd there and we wound up in the new world. When we met up with Filia again in the new world, she told us we were being chosen due to the whole thing with Gaav and Phibrizo. Another Save the World quest! Of course, we were the next people picked, as her first choice didn't want the job. I had to take it anyway because I knew her first choice and a I knew that her first choice wanted me to do it... or else. In any case, we kept on going from place to place, looking for the Weapons of Light, or the Dark Star weapons as they were known as. Yeah, I do mean Weapons of Light. It turns out there were other weapon just like Gourry's Sword of Light, and they were all created by the Dark Lord Dark Star. Filia's prophecy was surrounded around these weapons. We had to find them, because it turns out, Gaav had a surviving minion named Valgaav, who was a member of a lost Ryuzoku race reborn as a Mazoku under Gaav. With Gaav's death he went of the deep end, and sought to summon Dark Star to destroy the entire world. Between you and me, he had a MAJOR Gaav fixation. He even blamed me for killing Gaav, when all I was more then just bait, and Phibrizo was Gaav's executor. Nevertheless, he was severly pissed at the Mazoku who wanted Gaav dead, and the Golden Dragons, who killed off the Ancient Dragons. Talk about misguided rage. But anyway, we defeated him after gaining the fifth Dark Star weapon, I admit, with some problems along the way. But not just Valgaav, we also vaped the Dark Lord Dark Star himself, who had consumed the powers of his opposing Shinzoku, the Night Dragon Vorphied, and went on a crazy rampage with the intention of starting everying over. But with a spell that mixed black and white magic with the Dark Star weapons amplifying the effect, we were able to defeat him. Now it's been months since that adventure, and we again split our separate ways. Amelia's back in Seyruun, doing her royal duties. Zelgadis is still looking for that cure. Filia is now taking care of Valgaav's egg, as the final attack must have purged his Mazoku side and cause him to be reborn as an egg. And as for Gourry and I, we are looking for a suitable replacement for the Sword of Light. Yes, a replacement. We have gotten involved with some surviving Shinzoku from Dark Star's world. With the defeat of Dark Star, they took all the weapons back with them, as they all originally came from their world. So we are now looking for a new sword out in the new world. Recently I've been tracking down rumors of a sword called the Blast Blade. It's supposed to be strong as the Sword of Light, but until we locate it, I'm not sure of that claim. As I close of this letter, I've been wondering, was it worth creating that spell? Yes, that one, the Giga Slave. Do you realize that all my recent adventures was a result of that spell? When I destroyed Shabranigdo with it, it brought the attention of the Mazoku and eventually Gaav and Phibrizo. And then some pissed off lackey, Valgaav, decided to take me down because of the events back in Sairaag. With their deaths and the destruction of the barrier this allowed him to follow through with his plans the destroy everything. Even then I attempted to cast it again, although those attempts went nowhere and nothing happened. The first time I was interrupted by the arrival of the Shinzoku, just before I was able to invoke the final two words. The second time was when Valgaav was leading Dark Star on a spree of destruction. Dark Star prevented me from using my magical amplifiers. Maybe I really DID seal it after all... but who knows... surely the Dark Star incident was a fluke. But if there was another powerful Dark Lord out there, I will still have the spell as a last resort, no matter what the consequences. And oh... Gourry says hi, and hopes the well for you. I do too. I'm sorry for was all happened in Sairaag, both times. From Lina and Gourry, somewhere in the middle of nowhere. =========================================================================== "So... she's not traveling with Gourry for the sword," Sylphiel said to herself. She had remembered that Lina had said that she was traveling with Gourry until she claimed the Sword of Light for herself. Sylphiel allowed herself a small smile as she continued to persue through the letters. Zelgadis had written nothing new, nothing that wasn't mention in Lina's letter. He talked about his point of view of the Dark Star event, and then went on about various leads and places he went on his search for his cure. Only Amelia's letter had something new. She had decided that she was going to located her missing older sister. Since she was bored in the palace again, and that Lina and Gourry were off in the new world, she decided that she deserved come closure on her mother's death and the disappearance of her sister that followed. Sylphiel leaned back in her chair with a sigh. "Same old," she mummured to herself. With that she started writing replies, not even caring with they even reached their destination. Once they were finished she notice that it was getting late. Removing the heavy cape she wore, Sylphiel stretched out. "Enough time for a walk," she said to herself, getting out of the chair. With that she left her house, and started walking towards the town entrance. She breathed in the crisp cool air as she observed the daily goings of the townspeople. Upon reaching the town entrance, she had to make a decision. Keep on going, eventually reaching the ruins of the former city, or turn back to her nice soft bed. Unforunately she didn't even have the chance to make her desicion. "Nani?" She exclaimed as she felt something overcome her. In less than a heartbeat, a weariness overtook her as she fell to the ground, breathing lightly in dream sleep. =========================================================================== //Priestess...// //Priestess..// 'What happened? Where am I?' The sky was a dark black as rubble littered the area. A climactic battle had been fought here against something powerful. //Priestess Sylphiel Nels Lahda...// "What... who's..." //I'm speaking to you... priestess..// "Where am I? What is this place?" //Priestess... this is the world where the Golden One had placed the one known as Chaotic Blue as its surpreme Dark Lord. What you see here is a remains of a battle fought by those that carry a shard of power from the main Shinzoku of this world. The battle was fierce. Power beyond imagination was thrown about like childs rubber balls. There were many casualties.// "Why are you showing me this? What does the battle in Chaotic Blue's world have to do with ours?" //The Antagonist is not Chaotic Blue's forces.// "Then what is it?" //You know of the story of what happened in the Overworld, the world of Dark Star and Volphied?// "Yes, I was just informed." //The antagonist originated from the Overworld, a new darkness, born from the power vacuum with Dark Star's defeat.// "So, father was right. He said that there needs to be a balance of light and dark. I thought it was just one of his ideas." //But this Darkness is out of control. A sucessor of Volphied has not yet come to power in that world. Shinzoku are though still present, hiding the Dark Star weapons, so this new darkness seeks power by seeking items of power in the other worlds.// "But then why show me this?" //First, let me ask you this? Do you fear for yout friend, Lina Inverse?// "I worry about her safety, that much is certian." //But you also worry about her powers as well. You fear what her powers can bring. You worry for Lina, for Lina created that spell...// "Yes, I do." //Yet, do you know the burden she carries? The burden of being a person with such a power?// "I don't understand." //You soon will. Once you wake up, go back to the place where the Golden One made herself known. Go back to the place where the Golden One made herself known.// "O-okay," she stammered. //Once you discover what is now there, search for the ones who have been touched by the Golden One.// "Alright. I will." //That is all I need to hear.// =========================================================================== "Timothy, stop poking the poor girl." "But's she not waking up mama." Sylphiel stirred as she sat up. "Oh, good, you're up," the woman said. "Ano... what's going.... on?" Sylphiel looked at her surroundings. A group of people get gathered where she had fallen down. "We were quite concerned," an elderly man said. "Because you didn't wake up for quite some time." "We were afraid to let you stay there, but the other priests said it was a sure sign of a vision or a dream of importance," another man said. "Was it a vision?" "I'm not sure, but it was rather informative," Sylphiel remarked. As she got up a memory flashed through her mind. An ancient memory from the past... Sylphiel turned towards the remains of the holy tree. With a purpose in her stride, she set off for the tree. =========================================================================== The riddle was so obvious. The Golden One, or really, the Golden Lord, was obviously another name for the Lord of Nightmares. And the Lord of Nightmares did made herself present, in the ruins of Phibrizo's temple, which was built on the grounds of the destroyed Flagoon. Picking through the broken remains of the monolith that once stood previously, she made her way into the middle of the dome. "It's been awhile since I came here..." she said, a bit apprhensive about this place. After all when Flagoon was still standing, Copy Rezo was on his rampage to destroy Lina, which had claimed the lives of the town and nearly destroyed Flagoon. And the place brought back a lot of bad memories. She remembered when Lina tried to cast the Giga Slave, and she prevented Lina from using it, after all her warnings. It was a spell she knew that could destroy everything. Because of this Lina almost died. Dying in her place was NOT fun. Sylphiel hugged herself, a shiver running down her spine as she recalled the biting sting that seemed to pull her very existance from her body. Being imprisoned in Phibrizo's crystals, NOT fun either. Shaking the memories from her mind, Sylphiel journeyed into the center of the room, searching for whatever she was prompted to do. As she neared the middle of the room, she felt a tug... or was it a pull? Or was it something drawing her? She could feel her hands go into a grabbing movement, but what to grab but... Her fingers enclosed around a smooth metal shaft, the metal cool to the touch. She blinked as she felt it. That can't be right. Was she grabbing something out of thin air? Her other hand wrapped around another section of the metal as she tugged. For a brief second, reality ripped open as a long violet weapon was heaved out of the fabric of space and time. "What is going on?" she wordlessly breathed, as the weapon fully came to existance. Roughly two or so feet taller than she was, the top ended in a viciously curved blade that crossed between a halberd and a scythe. It was surprisingly light for such a massive weapon. What is this weapon?" She looked at this weapon trying to determine its origin. All she found were some gylphs in a undecernable language. It looked to be some sort of ancient writing. The blade seemed to shine in the light, casting eerie shadows with some internal light. All of it seemed to point to a hidden power. What was this power, she wasn't sure of, and if she wanted to find out. Quickly making a decision, she picked up the weapon and left the run down building. Tomorrow, she'll have to follow through with the request. To locate the ones touched by the Golden One. Tomorrow, she'll have to leave the protection of Sairaag, and journey to wherever they may be. Tomorrow, she'll begin the search... for Lina Inverse and Gourry Gabriev. Tonight, however, required sleep. Lots of sleep. End Episode 1
