“I grow tired of this realm,” Darksol said, leaning back in his throne. The assembled monsters twitched in fear. When the Emperor was feeling tired, he usually started to spontaniously zap monsters. This made the ones at the front of the group twitch nervously. A wrinkled hand went up and a electrical discharge danced around the fingers. The monsters at the front stepped back a second before the evil Emperor lowered his finger. A low, inaudible sigh of relief washed over the assembled monsters. The Emperor then stood, and called out, “Quickster!” The shallow faced man stepped forwards and bowed nervously. “My Emperor?” “The Power Rangers have once again thwarted our attempts to regain the Star Crystals. Already they have one of them which gave the Red Ranger incredible Power. Do you have something for me Quickster?” Quickster swallowed for a second before saying, “I do my lord.” He pulled out a magazine from his pack and gave it to Gear. Gear then gave it to the Dark Emperor who read the front page. “The humans call it... Virtual Reality.” A small smile crossed the Emperor’s face. A smile that spoke volumes of an evil and twisted plot. “Perfect. Quickster, make me a Virtual Transferance Machine.” “As you command my lord.” <><><> Power Rangers Elementals written by Shaun Garin <><><> Episode 6 : Trooper Transform! Part 1 <><><> Karl Ziktor, wealthy industrialist and buisnessman sat in his chair, petting his Iguana thoughtfully. The last battle between him and those tin plated superheros had depleted the might of the VR Army. But no matter, there was work to be done. Setting aside his Iguana, he carressed the Prism that sat at the edge of his desk and then firmly placed his hand atop it. Taking a breath, he commanded, “Forces of Darkness Empower me! Take me back to my Virtual Reality.” In a play of electricity, the buisnessman before, became Grimlord, Master of the Virtual World. But when he appeared, the normal masses of Virtual Mutants did not fill the room. Only one person, humanoid and cloaked in a black darkness filled the room. Grimlord leaned forward and demanded, “Who in the pits of VR are you?” The figure looked up and smiled evily. “I am Emperor Darksol. Eternal Enemy of the line of Zordon of Eltare. I seek an alliance.” “An alliance?” Grimlord asked. “For what purpose?” The Emperor started to pace, his robes swishing around him. He then said, “You have never been able to defeat the Troopers, and me, the Rangers. I propose an alliance to wipe them out. For you see, I have discovered that the ley lines under Crossworld are just so that the Skugs are affected by human attacks. But, not the same with Angel Grove. There, the Rangers would not be able to defeat them. And vice versa. Thus, we can eliminate the two threats to our rule.” “Our rule..” Grimlord rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “Then...as lord of Virtual Reality...” He stood and grasped Emperor Darksol’s hand in a firm shake. “It’s a deal.” <><><> The sight of Ryan Steele pounding on a punching bag was nothing new. Neither was the sight of JB pumping iron, or Kaitlin typing at her small laptop. Or Jeb, Ryan’s coonhound lazily relaxing in the middle of the dojo. Suddenly, Jeb sat up in the middle of the room, his fur raised. “Guys,” he woofed, “I think we’ve got trouble.” As if waiting, seven Black Gears crashed through the windows of the dojo, snapping the Troopers to alertness. Ryan sized up his opponent and said, “What in the world are these?” “I don’t know, but they’re nasty looking.” Kaitlin ducked a swing of a swordarm and launched a punch at the creature, only to have her punches and kicks to pass harmlessly through the creature. JB gaped for a second before a backhand knocked him into the wall. “And they’re strong!” Ryan ducked a couple of swings, and tried to rush through them but his fist passed right through their bodies. “And we can’t hurt them!” “Transform you guys!” Jeb barked over the din of the fighting. “He’s right. Trooper Transform!” <><><> “Rangers to Action.” Over the din of the siren, five Rangers ran into the room, all pouring in from different places of the Mountain Base. There, Shaun stood gravely in the middle of the room, watching carnage unfold in the Warehouse district. There, several black and gold creatures were tearing up the Warehouses, backed up by a creature. “Whoa, looks like Darksol’s invested in new minions,” JT said. “I do not believe they are from Darksol. They have a different energy pattern than his minions. But transform and go. We will gather data on how to beat these creatures.” Katrina turned around to activate the transporter as Jordi announced their transforming call. “Power Rangers Elementals!” In an instant, they appeared in the middle of the Warehouse district, with none of those creatures in sight. Jordi frowned. “Where are they?” “Activating Power Scope.” The scope appeared onto JT’s helmet and he started to scan for things. “Talk to me man, what’s up?” “Readings all over the place,” JT mummured. “I don’t know what type of energy they’re putting out but its all over the board. Can’t lock ‘em down.” “Right, stay alert everyone. Draw Power Blasters.” The five slowly moved through the darkened Warehouse before a cry came from JT. “GOT ONE!” In an instant, the gold and black suited figures leapt out from behind the crates, encircling the Rangers. “It’s a trap!” Kezia shouted. “No shit! Power up!” Jordi launched a flying sidekick towards the nearest creature, only to suddenly bounce off a forceshield of some type of energy. JT grabbed his blaster and started to fire, but in a shocking move, the energy richocheted off their energy patterns, the bolts slamming into his chest. The Blue Ranger was sent tumbling backwards. “I think we’re in trouble,” Jetta mummured as she parried a couple punches, only to fall back with a yelp at the stinging sensation of the energy patterns they held. Suddenly, the monster from before appeared in the flesh, huge and powerful. It reared back before spitting out a gout of green flame at them. Brendan shot his hand up and shouted, “Elemental Megazord!” <><><> “This is most serious,” Professor Hart muttered. “And you said that your legs and arms passed right through these...Gears you called them?” “That’s what it looked like to me,” Kaitlin said. She nursed a bandaged arm that throbbed painfully. “We couldn’t even touch them.” “Hmm...JB, what do the instruments say about the creatures?” JB poured over the data intently for a minute before saying, “they’re technoganic, living Black Gears. As Ryan can admit to, they’re extrordanarily strong and tough. We couldn’t touch them but they could touch us. HARD.” Ryan looked up from the med bed and made a low mummur of agreement. His head was bandaged around the forehead and he grunted once again. Then, he laid his head back on the pillow of the table. Jeb woofed a couple of times derisively before saying, “I thought I recognized those grunts. They’re from Angel Grove.” Kaitlin nodded in agreement. “You’re right. But I saw the Rangers defeat these guys with one hand tied behind their backs. What’s wrong with us?” “It’s not us, its where the attack was held. Underneath Tao’s Dojo, there’s a Ley line nexus which allows for circumvention of different energies to be utilized. In short, Emperor Darksol has made it possible that we can’t defeat anyone from his group in or around the outskirts of Crossworld City.” JB took on a thoughtful look before turning to his instruments. “Then what do we intend to do?” Jeb asked. “We take the fight to them,” Ryan said, getting up from his medtable. “It’s the only way, if the data JB read was correct. Grab your stuff, Kaitlin, tell Woody that you’re headed to Angel Grove to do a story. I’ll tell Tao I need a couple of days off. Jeb, Professor, can you try and contact the Ranger’s base of operations on all frequencies?” “I will try,” the Professor said. “Good. We’ll meet here in a half hour.” <><><> “I’ll see you later Rangers,” Swordsman said with a grin before dissapearing, leaving a broken and battered Megazord. Inside the bridge of the downed Megazord, Jordi pulled himself to a standing position, and wrestled with the controls. Slowly, surely the Megazord pulled itself back up onto its feet. Letting out a resigned sigh, Jordi slapped the communicator and said, “Shaun, transport us out.” “Will do. See you at base.” In a flash of light, the five zords and Rangers dissapeared in multicolored bursts of light. Back in the Mountian Base, Katrina and Shaun set up several medical beds for the people they knew were to be injured. True enough, the Rangers teleported in, supporting JT, Brendan and Kezia. Jetta seemed the best off during the zord battle, her left arm held and her monofiber armor ripped open. Jordi was limping while supporting JT’s large mass on his shoulder. One arm was hanging limply at his side. Rushing to place the injured Rangers on the beds, Shaun looked up and said, “We need a doctor.” “But who can we trust?” Katrina asked. “Well...I know someone...” Shaun began, moving off to the communications table and pressing in a couple of buttons. <><><> “Dr. Lita Kino speaking.” “Lita? It’s Shaun. We’ve got an emergancy.” Lita’s eyes widened in shock. “My God, Swordsman did more damage than I saw on the news?” “That’s not all, I need a number of a reliable doctor.” “Oh my god, they’re hurt that bad?” “Worse. Katrina’s stablized Brendan but there’s no telling what could happen. Do you know a good doctor we can trust?” “Hold on, there is someone.” Lita cradled the phone in her neck and flipped through a rolladex that sat at the edge of her desk. She moved through the numbers before stopping on the M section. There, she fished out a number and said, “I’ve got a number of an old friend here in Angel Grove. Her name is Dr. Amy Mizuno.” “Amy Mizuno? Can she be trusted?” “I think so,” Lita answered. “We went to medical school together before I transfered to psychiatry. Her office is on mainstreet. Should I teleport there and meet you?” “That would be best. Shaun out.” Lita placed the phone back on the hook and then reached over to her call box and pressed the button. “Serena, cancel all my appointments. Family emergancy.” Then, hauling out the green and white cell phone, she pressed the button, teleporting out of her chair. <><><> “Doctor Mizuno?” Asked an orderly. “There’s someone here to see you.” Doctor Amy Mizuno looked up from her work, pushing up largish glasses on her nose. She was a pretty woman, about thirty or less, with blue hair and intelligant blue eyes. She wore a blue dress and white lab coat. “Send them in.” The orderly nodded and turned around, admitting the green clad Lita and gold clad Shaun. Amy stood up in surprise. “Lita! Why its been ages. What brings you here?” “Amy, meet Shaun of Eltare, mentor to the Power Rangers.” Amy’s glance turned to the youngish looking Eltarian and said, “Him? He can’t be very old.” “I’m over seven thousand years old Madame,” he said in short clipped tones. “But I need a doctor and fast. Three of the Rangers are in critical condition.” “Me? The Power Ranger’s Family Doctor?” Amy gaped. “In a sence,” Lita said, shrugging. “I’m their family shrink.” Amy pondered the thoughts before grabbing a leather satchel and standing up. “Let’s go.” Shaun stepped forwards and said, “Then grab hold of my sleeve and hold on.” She did and he raised the cell phone. “Katrina, three to beam directly to sickbay.” In a shimmering of white, the three dissapeared. <><><> “There’s residual traces of Virtual Energy around here. No doubt about it, Skugs were here, with Doommaster and a Virtual Mutant. I can’t lock on anything though.” Ryan scanned the area before stopping at the middle of the Angel Grove park. “The fields between VR and Reality are weak. I’ll bet that the Skugs came through here.” “What’re you guys doing here?” asked a young voice. The Troopers turned to see five multicolored figures dressed in spandex suits. “Last I heard, you guys were back in Crossworld.” “We came up here to investigate the recent attacks of VR monsters,” Kaitlin replied. “Who’re you? You’re not the same Rangers I’ve seen on the news.” Fred inclined his head in acknowlagement. “We’re the Turbo Rangers, back up to the Elementals. We couldn’t participate in the recent battle since the Turbo Zords are not operational as of yet.” “I see. Can you contact the base of the Rangers?” JB asked. “Sure, no problem. Red Turbo to Mountain Base.” “Mountain Base, go ahead Fred.” “We’ve got three VR Troopers here, wanting to talk. Can you beam them in?” “Sure, tell them cause I’ve got a lock right now.” Fred looked up and said, “They’re getting ready to transport you guys there. You used to teleporting?” A round of nods confirmed it. In an instant, the three of them dissapeared in flashes of strange circutry patterns. <><><> Kezia’s eyes flickered for a second before she opened them to the light of the operating table. “Am I dead?” she asked. A slight moan and a croaking voice to her left said, “I don’t think being dead hurts this much.” Kezia turned to see JT, shirtless with bandages around his chest. Another moan caught her attention as Brendan moaned, “What the fuck hit me?” “A big sword swinging monster.” This voice came from Jordi who’s arm was entombed in a accelerated healing cast. “That last battle really did a number on our zords and us by extention.” Jetta was sitting on the other side of the triplicate of beds, nursing her ankle absently. “So....we barely survived this time.” “And I reccomend that you don’t do any fighting for at least a week,” came a new voice to the Rangers. It belonged to the blue haired woman in the doorway. “You three,” she pointed to Green, Blue and Yellow, “have just been pulled apart and restitched within a couple of hours in total. And you, Mr. Lehmann, have a fractured arm and you Jetta, have a slightly swollen ankle.” “Oi. There goes defeating the current monster,” JT cracked dryly. Amy leveled a sharp stare at him. “You’re the pacients here now so I suggest you’d better keep off your feet for a while. You have a backup team, the Turbo’s right?” “They’re just kids,” JT muttered inaudibly. “Kids, or no kids, you need their help. Now, there are three VR Troopers in the main hall, Lita, Shaun, Katrina and Fred are all talking to them.”
