Under One Roof By Shaun Garin Authors starting notes : Hello, I’m back, writing another self-insert fan fic with some other changes. For one, I interact with several dozen characters from games and other series from America (occasionally) and Japan. Secondly, me and my AHEM, new housemates, will interact with some of my friends from my school here in peaceful Lacombe, Alberta. See how many of the characters have to deal with my school and its normal policies, watch how Nuku Nuku takes on the guys in my class with her newly installed Anti-Pervert program. Watch their reaction when my class throws a class Christmas party and how they decide to liven it up a little. And watch me make a total idiot of myself around them to my friends delight. Anyways, I don’t wanna give away all the secrets in this one so read to your hearts content. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter 1 : Home Is Where The Heart Is “Okay, I’ve got Ranma, Ukyou, Akane, my version of the sailor senshi from my trilogies and the originals from the Japanese version, Trunks, Gohan, Sasami, Ryo-Ohki, Washu, the Slayers team, Urd, Andy, Mai, A-Ko, Nuku Nuku, Lum, Ataru, Yuusuke, Botan, and Kurama from the Anime series. From the games, I got, Mog and Terra from FFIII, Chrono Trigger’s Marle, Crono and Lucca. From FFVIII I got Tifa, Aerith, Cloud and Yuffie. And lastly for the games Shining Force II’s Sarah, Taya, Bowie and Kazin.” Shaun leaned back and stretched in his chair. “Being alone for a month gives me time to work on my stories.” He yawned loudly. “I guess I should turn in.” The young 17 year old writer reached out to his mouse and touched the save. Suddenly, a massive silver pulse emitted from his computer. He shielded his eyes from the light pulse. When it faded, he uncovered his eyes. “Whoa. Wait a second...” He quickly tailed up possibilities of what it was. “Okay, there’s no computer damage, and there’s nothing sucking me into another dimention, sooooo..... I must have done something to bring something here. Wait a minute.” Shaun reached down and pulled out a video labeled Extreme Ghostbusters Vol. 1. He popped it in the VCR and ran it through fast forward. Then he found the episode he wanted. “...they are a type of demons which can be summoned by writing.” Egon was saying on the television. “Oh, shit. I hope I didn’t summon something.” A ring at the doorbell snapped his attention away from the episode. “Spoke too soon.” Shaun opened the door a crack and peeked out. “Yes?” “Hi, um, me and my companions have sort of landed suddenly in your lawn. May I ask where we are?” Shaun nodded and opened the door more. He flicked on the porch light and took in the people standing at the door. His breath caught in his throat as he recognized the three people standing at his porch. “Oh Shit.” he whispered. Saotome Ranma, Kounji Ukyou and Tendo Akane were standing in front of him, staring right back at him. “Um, excuse me, you were saying something?” Akane asked. Shaun shook his head. “Um, come in. Suffice to say is that you’re not in Japan anymore.” Ukyou stared at him. “Excuse me? What did you say?” “You’re not in Japan anymore. You’re in Alberta, Canada.” The girls fainted. Ranma and Shaun stared at them. “They faint easily for Martial Artists, don’t they?” Shaun commented. “Yeah. Wait a minute, how do you know that we’re Martial Artists?” “Long story. Help me drag them into the living room, I’ll tell you everything.” Ukyou and Akane had recovered by the time Shaun had finished his explanation of his knowledge of their origin. Ranma and his legitimate fiancee’s were amazed. “So, in this universe we’re just characters created by a Japanese woman named Rumiko Takahashi? And you’ve watched the series for quite some time?” Ukyou asked. “Yeah. I got some of you’re exploits on tape starting with two videos of the first six episodes, a couple of hard battle dubbed videos, the movies,” They looked blankly at him. “The Nekonron and Toma incidents.” he clarified. “Those are the movies?” Akane asked, suitably embarrassed. “Yeah. And I got two OAV’s, the Christmas, Ranma’s mother, Miss Hinako, and the Reversal Jewel incidents. Plus several volumes of the Manga and a handful of separate comics.” “Can we see them?” Ranma asked. “Sure. Wait here.” Shaun jumped up and ran upstairs for a second. He emerged with a handful of Manga titled Ranma 1/2. Passing them around, he made sure that Akane didn’t get the one’s with Ryoga in it, in either form. He sat beside Ranma and whispered into his ear, “Does Akane know about Ryoga and his curse?” “Not yet. Can you try to keep it a secret?” “Sure. Just make sure she dosen’t read any of the Manga with Ryoga in it.” “Got it.” Ukyou looked up, a I-got-a-secret-look on her face. Ranma paled. “Oi. I think we forgot about Ucchan.” He murmured. “I guess so. I reckon she knows about P-Chan now?” Shaun whispered back. Ukyou only smiled at the pair with her half-I-got-a-secret look. She grinned, her features splitting into a smile neither of them enjoyed. “She knows.” “Yup.” “Ukyou, you and Akane can stay in here in my grandmother’s room. It’s not used. The sheets are in the upstairs linen closet. I hope you don’t mind sleeping in the same bed since I’m expecting more visitors.” “Expecting more? What do you mean?” “I have a feeling that more people from other Anime/Manga series will pop up sooner or later. I’ve seemed to have summoned people when I hit save on my computer. It could be anyone I listed on the computer file.” The three shrugged. “Nothing we haven’t seen before.” “Oh trust me, I have a feeling things will get weirder. Oh, on a note, please no hitting each other through the walls, I don’t have the money to repair them constantly.” “Sure.” “Okay.” “Right.” DING-DONG Shaun did the perfect imitation of a large sweatdrop rolling down the back of his head. “I think I should get it.” The young Philipino turned ran up the steps and unlocked the door. He opened it and behind it, was five girls dressed in very familiar armor and weaponry. “Um, we’re sorry we disturbed you tonight sir but...” Shaun waved it off. “It’s all right Ami-chan. Come in.” The Senshi Knights stared at him, Rei glaring daggers into his brown eyes. “How the hell you know us?” “I write about you. Come in, you’re a long way from Japan.” He ushered the very suspicious senshi inside the hall when Ukyou came up in shorts and a shirt. Minako’s eyes widened and she squealed with joy. “Ukyou! You’re here too?” She glomped the Okonomiyaki cook with blinding speed. Ukyou choked from the lack of air. “Hey, leggo! Who are you girls?” Minako and the rest looked shocked. “What do you mean? We’ve been fighting the Lavoisian Army for a month and you don’t remember me?” “Remember what?” Ranma asked, coming up behind Ukyou. The girls screamed in fright. Ranma turned to Shaun. “What’s with them?” This time, Shaun did bigsweat. “Um...I guess I haven’t finished the resurrection scene in Energy Wave yet,” he then dropped his chin into his hand in thought, “I guess I should bring you back to life, ne?” Ranma and Ukyou facefaulted. Ranma leaped up and grabbed Shaun by the shirt. “Whadda mean, bring me back to life?!” “Calm down. It’s a long story. Suffice to say, is that in my crossover story, Energy Wave, I bring the sailor senshi, the Ranma 1/2 crew and the Chrono Trigger guys into a war with a race of aliens known as the Lavosians. I gave the senshi new weapons in my story and during the course of the story, Ranma is killed but brought back to life with an experimental Chrono Trigger. Needless to say is that things end pretty good since I introduced your son, Ranma.” The Ranma 1/2 group blinked several times. “Ranchan’s...” “Son?” Shaun nodded. “From the future. he married Akane, but during a battle, she was critically injured. Akane then passed guardianship of Jason to Ranma and Ukyou. You three now live together in 2023.” “Um, A-Akane, Ucchan, whatever you do, don’t bash me through the walls. Expenses, remember?” The heat from the battle auras cooled as the girls calmed down. “It’s just a story, right?” Shaun shook his head. “I don’t really know. These are the Sailor Senshi from a universe where the Nerima residents and the Senshi interact on a fairly regular basis.” He shivered. “Could you girls close the door? It’s getting cold.” Makoto kicked the door shut. Shaun thanked her “No problem.” “Anyways, you might want to revert back to your normal forms, I suppose that armor can get mighty hot.” A flash of energy later, and five teenage girls stood in front of the three other dimention hoppers and the native writer. “Okay, you can stay down here. It’s a bit cool so you might want to raise the temperature control upstairs in the family room on the ground floor.” “Thanks for your hospitality.” Usagi said. “Don’t mention it. I have a feeling that this might be all my fault. I wrote the list of people so I guess it is my fault that you guys are here.” “Hey, don’t blame yourself. If anything, blame the fates.” Shaun looked at her, eyebrows raised. “Well, if anything, if my luck holds true, Urd, the Goddess Of Love will pop up here sooner or later.” “Goddess? You’re joking?” Ami asked. “Yeah well, coming from a Christian, it’s still not really surprising to me.” “Oh. Well, G’Night.” “G’Night.” “Hello? Anyone here?” Terra knocked again on the door. A minute later, a young man in shorts and T-shirt appeared at the door. “Shhh. The rest are sleeping.” Shaun slipped on his glasses and peered at the green haired girl and her small furry companion. “Ahh. Terra and Mog. I should of known. Come in and sleep. Others are here that are in your predicament. Suffice to say, you’re not in Final Fantasy anymore.” Terra and Mog looked at looked at him. “You sure sound like you know what you’re doing.” the first said. “Ohhh, you have no idea. Come in and I’ll put you two in the living room.” The next morning, Shaun awoke to the sounds of breakfast dishes clanging in the kitchen. “If it’s Akane cooking, I’m going to scream.” he muttered, his voice half-muffled. A shriek filled the air as obviously, Ranma walked in on one of the girls in the bathroom. From the pitch and the sound vibration ratio, he suspected it was either Rei or Usagi. “Get out here you pervert!” “Or I could be wrong.” Akane’s shrill voice pierced the air as he dressed. Grabbing his towel, he walked out of his room and knocked at the bathroom door. “Anyone in there?” Terra’s voice came through. “I’m in here.” “Oh. Okay, I’ll wait.” He slung the towel over his shoulder and strolled down the steps and into the kitchen. Ukyou stood at the stove, cooking up some eggs and some sausages that she had found in the freezer. “Morning Ukyou, how’d you sleep?” She looked up. “Pretty well. I can’t believe how comfortable western beds are.” Suddenly a thought occoured. “Wait a sec, if we’re from Japan, and this is Canada where they speak English, then what are we speaking?” “English. I guess when you crossed over, your speech switched to English so we could communicate.” “Really? I guess dimensional traveling can have that effect on people.” “Possibly. Today’s Saturday, so I usually go to Chapel up at the College.” “Really? It’s been a long time since I’ve gone to a church service. Can I come?” “Why not? I have the van so I can bring you along.” “Thanks. You hungry?” “Heh, always.” “Here’s something. I guess my brothers clothes are the only things that will fit you, ne, Ukyou?” Ukyou took the suit pants and the black and white blurred shirt. She held it against her body. “You think so?” “Hey, you’d look good in them.” “T-Thanks.” she stammered, turning a deep red from embarrassment. Ranma then poked his head in my brothers bedroom. He looked at the two of them, his face taking on a questioning glance. “Am I interrupting anything?” Shaun shook his head. “Nah, I’m just leaving so that Ukyou can get dressed.” DING DONG “I’ll get it!” Usagi bounded up the stairs and wrenched open the door with some trial and error to unlock the chain. Three men stood behind the door. Usagi blinked and then turned around and called to her host. “Shaun! The Starlights are here!” “Hold on a sec! I’ll be right down!” Shaun jogged down in his usual church black suit. “Hi, I’m Shaun, you’ll be staying here until I can find a way to send you back to your universe. Suffice to say, is that this is not Japan and things will get a bit crowded here over the next month or so.” “What? What do you mean that ‘this is not our universe’? Care to explain?” Seiya was angered. Shaun looked at her, both eyebrows raised. “If you want, get the story from one of them downstairs. He bounded out the door, Ukyou trailing behind, dressed in a man’s outfit. Seiya blinked. “I guess we should make ourselves at home.” Chapter 2 : A Friend In Need Is Perhaps A Friend Indeed “Here we are, the CUC Admin. Building.” Ukyou whistled. “It’s a beautiful building.” “I guess so. Many have said that when they first arrive on campus. Come on, the Youth service is starting.” Suddenly, a tingle ran up and down his spine as he whirled around. Ukyou looked at him. “What is it?” Just then, a flash of silver light burst out from behind them, revealing Aerith, Tifa and Yuffie. Cloud, he suspected, must have appeared in or in front of my house. Aerith blinked. “What? What’s going on? Where are we?” Ukyou and Shaun sighed heavily, drawing the women’s attention to them. “I guess introductions are nessassary. I’m Shaun, and this is Ukyou. I guess you’ve just appeared from Final Fantasy, have you not?” Tifa blinked in confusion. “Final Fantasy? Our planet is just called the Planet.” “Actually, for quite some time, Tifa,” Aerith said, “the Planet was called Final Fantasy. But after a few years, it was changed to just The Planet.” “Really? I didn’t know that.” Tifa exclaimed. “Neither did I.” Yuffie nodded as well. “Aaaaaaaanyways, I suspect that your arrival here was my fault so I guess I have to put you guys up at my place. Cloud should be ther by now.” “Wait a sec, how do you know us?” “Long story.” the pair chorused. Jim Hanson was working on positioning the overhead when he heard the door open and close. ‘Someone must be early.’ He looked up and took in the newcomers. His eyes bulged out as he recognized three women from the Final Fantasy VII game with Shaun. Suffice to say, Jim was totally shocked. He abandoned the overhead and walked up to the five. “Hi Jim!” “Hey Shaun. Um, I don’t mean to be rude or anything but, aren’t you people from Final Fantasy VII?” Aerith, Tifa and Yuffie exchanged looks. “Um, yeah.” Yuffie said. “Why do you ask?” “Um, no reason. Shaun, can I talk with you for a second?” “Sure.” The pair moved off to a corner of the Chapel and started to talk in hushed tones. “Why is Yuffie, Tifa and Aeris with you? And am I just hallucinating?” “It’s no hallucination. Somehow, ever since last night, I’ve seemed to start drawing people from other universes where everything is real. I’ve got my version of the Sailor Senshi, the Starlights, Ranma 1/2, Terra and Mog, and Cloud should be at my house by now or perhaps later. I think disaster is going to strike at any moment since I can’t seem to return them.” “Who else are you expecting?” “A few from Shining Force II, three from Chrono Trigger, two from Fatal Fury, Two from Urusei Yatsura, two from Dragonball Z, three from Tenchi Muyo, two from Yu Yu Hakusho, a love goddess, A-Ko from Project A-Ko, Nuku Nuku, Slayers team of five.” “Chrono Trigger? You had to include them too?” “What else was I supposed to do? I hit save without knowing what the heck was going to happen!” “Yeah, I guess then you’ll have to house them all, eh?” “I know. I’ll have to bunk most of the teams together to make room.” The pair groaned. Jim looked back at the girls. “I think you should check on them Shaun, Yuffie and the other girl are getting hit on.” “Uh? Oh, thanks.” “Don’t mention it.” “We’re home!” the five entered the house, kicking off their shoes as they walked into the living room. In the living room, Ranma, Terra and Mog were having a lively discussion about their adventures. Ranma, for one, was impressed that they could use such awesome powers in a fight. He looked up. “Hi! Who are the new roommates?” “These are the girls from Final Fantasy, the seventh chapter.” Aerith was looking around the room at all the decorations until she saw Mog. “Oh, cute!” she exclaimed. Mog smiled. “Me Mog! Me with Terra! Shaun give us room to sleep in!” “A MOG? There aren’t any more Mogs in the Planet unless we summon them with the Choco/Mog Materia.” Tifa said, while looking at the cute, white ball of fur. “Do you still have Chocobos?” Terra asked. “Yes, but we use them for racing mostly in the Gold Saucer or we can breed a Gold Chocobo to get to the Knights Of The Round Cave.” “And believe me, that was hard enough.” Cloud said from the stairs. “Cloud! You came?” “Yeah. I arrived here around 11:00 this morning.” He exhaled sharply and dropped down on the couch. “That dimensional hopping can tire someone out.” Two days later, only two other people had appeared in the hapless writer’s universe : Lum and Ataru. Ataru was constantly trying to grope all the girls but with some help from Cloud and a certain Materia, they casted Stop on Ataru in Mid-grope. (And they were not willing to heal him either.) So in effect, they had a long ornament, tasteful (It looked like he was running) and yet, crude, but effective punishment. Lum, on the other hand, had to be convinced that Shaun couldn’t afford repairs to a wall or other household items. So, she was only allowed to use her lightning and TransDimentional Mallets only with the greatest of care. Needless to say, she agreed readily to keep her “Darling” away from the other girls. Shaun sat at his computer, trying every trick he knew about Dimentional hopping to send them back, but to no avail. A footmovement brought his attention behind him. Ranma stumbled in the room from outside the house. “What happen...Akane, right?” “Yeah. I feel terrible. Is there a doctor in the house?” “Well I can get you a doctor’s appointment but it’ll take a while. If you want, I can try an experiment that could bring instant relief.” “Go ahead.” Shaun tossed off a jaunty salute and turned back to the computer and typed in a sentence. BRING DR. TOFU TO THIS UNIVERSE. He hit enter and a new message appeared. DO YOU WANT TO BRING HIM? Y/N. YES. A flash of silver energy and Dr. Ono Tofu appeared in the room. Shaun raised his eyebrows. “I guess my theory was correct.” Tofu looked around. “This doesn’t look like the clinic. Oh, Ranma! What happened to you?” “Back...yard....Tomboy....Malleting....Lum....” Ranma weakly said though his haze of pain. “Do you need a translation, Dr.?” Shaun asked. Dr. Tofu looked at him. “No need. Who are you? Where am I?” “Name’s Shaun. I brought you here to my universe though my computer. It seems like I can pull anything here but I haven’t found a way to send them back yet. This isn’t Nerima anymore.” “Then where am I?” “Alberta, Canada. A small town near Red Deer, south of Edmonton.” “Interesting.” Tofu then turned his attention to the battered boy. “He’ll need a recracking of the joints to replace his dislocated joints and to cure his bruises.” “Go ahead.” Soon, a symphony of joints cracking, similar to the fourth episode of the first season of Ranma 1/2 was resounding, complete with background music. After a brief pain session, Ranma was fully cured. Akane came in the door. “Dr. Tofu? What are you doing here?” “I found a way to bring him here. I’ll see if I can return him back to your own universe. But I can’t still send the others back yet.” “Keep trying.” Akane encouraged the writer. “Lets see. Um, Dr. Tofu, can you stand in the middle of the room? Thanks. Okay, um...lets try this.” SEND DR. TOFU BACK TO NERIMA, ORIGINAL UNIVERSE. DO YOU WANT TO SEND HIM BACK WHERE HE CAME FROM? Y/N YES The similar silver light engulfed Dr. Tofu and in an instant, he was gone, back in his clinic, and promptly made an idiot of himself since Kasumi came in the door at that point. Luckily, no one was within his grasp at that moment. “Shaun, can you try that on us?” Akane asked. “I’ll try. Lemme see.” SEND AKANE TENDO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL UNIVERSE CANNOT COMPLY. AKANE TENDO IS SAVED HERE UNTIL THE STORY IS FINISHED. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. “Dammit!” Shaun turned to Akane and Ranma. “It says that you’re saved here until the story is finished. I’ll have to start work on it now.” “Don’t feel bad Shaun.” “I guess. Hey, wait a second, if I can bring Dr. Tofu here, than what about Nanniichuan water?” Ranma’s eyes lit up in joy. “You really mean it? Can you try?” “I’ll try.” BRING NANNICHUAN WATER IN BUCKET HERE. “What the hell?” “What is it?” NANNICHUAN WATER STATUS NEEDS TO BE UPDATED BY JUSENKYO GUIDE. BRING GUIDE HERE INSTEAD? Y/N “What do you think?” “Go for it.” YES. In an instant, the Jusenkyo Guide was standing in the room. “Ayia, what I do here?” “Hello Guide. We brought you here for a Jusenkyo update. How is the pools?” Ranma asked. “Jusenkyo reform but water is still mixed. If want wait, Nannichuan is ready in two months.” Ranma drooped as with Akane. “I guess. Thanks. Shaun, send him back to our universe.” “Roger.” A clacking of keys later and the guide disappeared in silver light. “I guess that was pointless.” “Not exactly. Lemme try something else. Um...” BRING JUSENKYO NANNICHUAN WATER FROM ENERGY WAVE UNIVERSE. BRING JUSENKYO WATER, Y/N? A feral grin split his face. “We’re in. Yes.” A flash of light and a bucket of water appeared in the middle of the room. Ranma started to jump up and down in joy, chanting, “Never gonna be a gurl again!” Akane sighed and knocked him upside the head. “Calm down.” “We should test it,” Shaun was stared down by Ranma, “or we can just pour a bit over Ranma’s head to see what happens.” He took the ladle and scooped the water up in it. “Ready?” Ranma nodded. Shaun poured the water over his head...and he changed into a girl. “What the hell happened?!” Ranma-chan yelled in her soprano voice. “I don’t get it. Let me check the computer.” he returned to the keyboard and typed a bit more until he found what he wanted “Aw man!” he turned around in his chair. “It says that Jusenkyo water dosen’t work in this universe. Anything else such as Mallets and other personal elements that the traveler brings with them will work but if you bring something else which wasn’t on the persons body at the time, then it won’t work at all.” Ranma-chan groaned loudly. “You mean I’m still going to be stuck as a girl all the time?” Shaun looked at her, a secretive smile on his face. “No. Just remember that there’s much worse things to turn into. You want me to bring Shampoo?” Ranma shuddered. “Not particularly.” “Good.” “Hey guys, what’s up?” Yuffie, Usagi and Terra came in the door, dressed in Shaun’s oversized shirts and shorts. Shaun looked at them, curious. “Why are you three wearing my clothes?” “Ours are in the wash.” “Oh. Well, it seems I can bring people and things here but I can’t send you back until I finish the story I was working on.” “Oh. Hey, isn’t that me on the video there?” Usagi pointed to a Japanese Anime video with Luna’s human form and herself in Super form. “Yeah, it’s one of the movies I watch. If you want, you can watch it.” “Which incident?” “Snow Queen.” Usagi shrugged her shoulders. “I guess it’s okay. Dibs on the couch!” “Hey! No fair!” Yuffie jumped on the couch, landing in a heap with the other two Usagi’s. Shaun stood and removed the video from it’s case and popped it in the VCR. He then left the five, including Ranma and Akane, to watch the video, intent to check if Ataru needed another Stop shot. “Hello? Anyone here?” Ami opened the door to reveal Nuku Nuku at the door. “Hihi! I Nuku Nuku! Nuku Nuku seems to be lost, is this where lost people go to?” Ami just shrugged and ushered the Cat-Girl into the living room where everyone was eating. Shaun looked up. “Oh, Nuku Nuku’s here. Everyone, meet Nuku Nuku. She’s an android with a cat’s brain.” Ranma paled. “D-Did you say C-Cat?” “She’s not dangerous. Besides, if you think of her as a very naive buxom 16 or 17 year old, it’s not that unnerving.” Ranma reddened in embarrassment at the thought. Ukyou eyed him dangerously. “Hey, Whadda mean by that?” “I didn’t mean to be insulting but I had to get Ranma’s mind off the fact that he’s going to be living with a android that has enough strength to toss him to Edmonton.” “Apology accepted.” “Nuku Nuku hungry. You have fish?” “In the oven, the wrapped plate, there’s some fried Salmon.” “Yay!” She ran out, very cat-like to the kitchen and returned, munching on the Salmon. “Thank you, Papa-san!” Shaun reddened as everyone looked at him. He felt the proverbial sweatdrop roll down his neck. “Um, just, um, Nuku Nuku...um,” he stammered, “Aw what the heck, you can call me Papa-san.” he managed to get out. “Thank you Papa-san!!” Cloud, Ataru and Ranma started to snicker. “Papa-san?” the latter said. “You devil you! You have a daughter!” Ataru added. “Why Shaun, I didn’t know you weren’t a virgin!” Cloud teased. “Shut up you guys! I didn’t ask for this. Anyways, I have to go to school tomorrow. Oh, and I have work at the Cafeteria at 7:30 AM so I’ll be gone for about an hour.” “Sure. Hey, mind if I come along? I’m missing a whole load of studies with the war and all.” Ami said. “Sure. Anyone else wanting to come?” “I’ll come.” Ukyou said. “Nuku Nuku come too! See Papa-san’s school!” “Why not? I don’t mind some studies. Besides, I don’t know this place. Might be fun.” Yuffie said. “I’ll come too.” Minako said. “I want to see how a Canadian school is run.” “I guess that’s it, huh?” Shaun asked. “Yeah. Wait, I want to come.” Akane added. “Sure.” Chapter 3 : School House Of Anime “Hi Mrs. Chris!” Mrs. Heidi Christison looked up as one of her students came in with some new teenagers behind him. “Good morning Shaun. Who are you’re friends?” “They’re my friends who are staying at my place for a month or so. This is Ukyou Kounji,” “Hi.” “Hello.” Mrs. Chris eyed the huge spatula strapped on the young “man’s” back. “Ami Mizuno.” “Hello.” “Yuffie Kisaragi.” “Hello sensei.” “Akane Tendo.” “Good day sensei.” “Please, call me Mrs. Chris.” “Nuku Nuku,” “Nuku Nuku?” Mrs. Chris rasied an eyebrow. “Yeah. Say hi Nuku Nuku.” “Okay Papa-san. Hihi! I’m Nuku Nuku!” Unfortuantely, Garrick Herr and Ryan Sparks just decided to listen in on the conversation. Garrick burst out laughing, as did Ryan. Shaun whirled on them, eyes blazing. “What’s tha matter with you two?” he demanded. “Why Shaun, I didn’t know you had a daughter.” “Who has a daughter?” Mike Pappachan asked from behind the group. “Shaun apparently has a daughter, Nuku Nuku.” “Hey!” the hapless writer sputtered out indignantly. “What?! He’s only 17!” “That is what’s so funny! Take a look at her!” Garrick choked out between laughs. Mike looked between the five girls.“Which one?” “The purple-reddish haired one.” The guys started to howl with laughter as Shaun hung his head in his hand. “This would only happen to me.” He complained. “Don’t worry Papa-san.” Shaun groaned. “That’s what I’m afraid of.” He glared at them. “Idiots.” he muttered. “Hey, has someone forgot about me?” “Huh? Oh, and this is Minako Aino.” “Hello.” Mrs. Chris shook her head in disbelief. “If I didn’t see it with my own eyes, I wouldn’t have believed something this wierd could happen. All right, Daniel, can you get some unused desks in the Science room? Thanks.” “I can’t believe you ran out the class, running after a bouncy ball! What were you thinking?!” Yuffie was quite apprehensive at her host’s tone of voice. “What?! I thought it was a Black Materia! Besides, it was a conditioned reflex.” Shaun made a low growl in his throat which slid into a low roaring groan. “Very funny,” he rumbled as they headed towards the RS room. “Hey John.” “Hey big guy.” The tall, brown haired classmate waved from the other side of the room. Then he noticed the six new girls behind him. “Hey, who’s the girls?” “Long story. But they are staying at my place with their friends.” John eyed him curiously. “Really.” Nuku Nuku looked at John curiously. She smelled a distinct scent of someone who loved animals. She came up to him and sniffed. John blinked a few times as Nuku Nuku sniffed several more times and smelt his hair. Shaun chuckled. “Don’t mind Nuku Nuku, she’s just an household cat in a andoid body.” He eyed the girl who was sniffing his hair. “Really. Gee, if I didn’t have a difficult life all ready.” Darcy came in the door and saw a crown of reddish-purple hair in front of his face. Darcy laughed. “I’ll leave you two alone.” He left, laughing all the way back out the door. John turned a deep red. “Hey, cut it out!” He yelled at Darcy. “Good kitty.” He petted Nuku Nuku’s head. She purred, a low sound emmiting from her throat. “Ohh, Nuku Nuku like.” John got up from his desk, walking over to Shaun. “Fill me in later, will ya?” “Sure, I’ll tell ya in class. Um, just take one of the five seats here, I’ll be back in a minute.” “Sure, no prob.” Yuffie said. “Thanks for the Materia, Yuffie. Though I don’t see a usefulness for Magic now. Maybe later I can use it productively.” “Hey, no problem Josh. Just don’t use it on a mortal, kay?” Yuffie slapped the Titan Bangle in his hand and sat down in her desk. “Hey Bill.” Bill Heinrich looked up from his computer terminal as the seven walked in the door. He recognized the girl from Shaun’s web page on the start page, but he didn’t recongize the other five. “Hey Shaun. You writing another fan fic?” “I sorta have to finish a certian one first or else I can’t send the girls back home.” He looked at them and blinked. “Which series?” “Ami and Minako from Sailor Moon,” he indicated the two girls to his right, “Nuku Nuku from the Nuku Nuku series,” “Hello.” “Yuffie from Final Fantasy VII, Ukyou and Akane from Ranma 1/2.” he pointed to the last two to his left. Bill stood and came over, sticking his hand out in a handshake. He grasped each hand in turn. “So, you’re the girl that is from the Ranma 1/2 series which Shaun writes about a lot.” Ukyou looked at Shaun who merely shrugged and back to Bill. “I guess so.” ‘Man he’s cute. Wait a sec, I’m engaged to Ranchan! Still....’ She shook her head to clear it. “Shaun has always said that you’re one of his favorite charecters. I guess that’s why you are in a lot of fics.” “T-Thanks.” she blushed at the compliment. “Hate to break up the lovers meeting but we’ve got another class to get to. Come on.” Shaun reached out and yanked Ukyou back through the door. He then stuck his head back through the door, giving Bill a I-Know-Who’s- Got-A-Crush-On-You look and a quirky smile. “Whatta day.” The seven entered the front door, kicking off their shoes as they entered. “Hey where’s everyone?” Terra came out, holding a finger to her mouth. “Shhh, everyone’s sleeping.” “Why’s that?” “Too much sparring practice. Good thing that Cloud decided to cast Barrier on everything before the house was destroyed.” “Who started it?” Yuffie asked. “The pervert.” “I should have never saved it with his name on the list.” Shaun grumbled. Akane whapped him upside the head. “Snap out of it. What’s done is done.” “I guess. Where’s everyone sacking out?” “Most are downstairs in the basement and the others are in the living room and the backyard. Seems that the natives are getting restless.” Shaun snorted. “Now THAT’S an understatement if I didn’t hear one.” Just then a thought crossed his mind. “Hey Terra, um, did I remember to go grocery shopping?” “Actually no. Do you need cash?” “Well since there’s going to be several dozen people in the house, I figure that perhaps I should go and get some food. But there’s only one problem, my insurance isn’t enough to reach up to Red Deer.” “That’s going to be a problem.” Ukyou noted. “Tell me about it,” Shaun sighed. Then, the proverbial lightbulb appeared over his head. “I got it! I’ll call Chocobo’s from Final Fantasy!” “But won’t they run away from you when you get off?” Yuffie asked. “Not percisely. If Shaun can call a trained Chocobo, then he can just tie it to a rail and it will just wait peacefully.” Terra answered. “I know, the Chocobo Ranch just outside of Midgar. They have Chocobo’s that are tame. I’ll punch up the Chocobo’s outside in the front yard.” He then stopped short, a grin splitting his face. “Maybe Gold Chocobo’s would be good.” Four days later, Shaun sat in his bed, reading a copy of the Tales Of Shampoo, Volume I when a knock at the door alerted him. “Yes?” “Shaun? It’s Ucchan. Can I come in?” “Sure.” Ukyou came out, looking like she was just crying. “Can I sit down?” “Go ahead,” he said. “Something troubling you?” “Well, yes. It’s Ranchan. He’s...not the same to me...anymore.” She fell silent for a minute until Shaun broke the silence. “Maybe you’ve shifted the object of your affections to someone else.” She looked up, eyes burning holes in his face. “Hey! Ranchan is the only one I’m going to marry!” “But is he the right one for you?” he slipped out from under the covers and walked to a small box, filled with files. Picking out a file labelled Daiskuske no Ranma, he drew a pair of stories out from it. “Here,” he said while giving the file to Ukyou. She took it, and read through the story. She looked up, tears threatening to give. “People write this?” she asked shakily. “Yes. You see, there’s a lot of people who think Akane belongs to Ranma. I’m sorta heasitant to say so but I agree with them alomst 100%. Sorry.” “You and others believe this? That Ranchan belongs to Akane?” “Well...I have my reasons. But...you and Akane are the best choices. That’s why I made you, Akane and Ranma the legal parents of Jason in my stories.. You’re my favorite charecter, next to Kasumi.” “Really? Well I guess you have reasons. But now, ever since we’ve been drawn into this universe, I’m...I’ve...” “I know. I’ve seen the look on your face when you look at Bill. Think about it for a bit. Sort out your problems.” Chapter 4 : The Tournament List of Arrived Charecters * Ranma, Akane, Ukyou - September 4 98 * Knights (Sailor Moon) - September 4 98 * Terra, Mog - September 4 98 * Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Yuffie - September 5 98 * Starlights - September 5 98 * Lum, Ataru Moroboshi - September 7 98 * Nuku Nuku - September 8 98 * Bowie, Sarah, Jaha, Taya - September 12 98 * Yuusuke, Botan, Kurama - September 15 98 * Crono, Luuca, Marle - September 15 98 * Trunks, Gohan - September 17 98 * Sasami, Ryo-Ohki, Washu - September 20 98 * Slayers Team - September 23 98 * Urd - September 28 98 * Andy, Mai - October 2 98 * A-Ko - October 5 98 Shaun groaned in agony. For a month, he had to constantly watch his housemates while at home. Unfortuantely, they were getting quite restless as the explosions in the backyard proved. “This is nuts. Hey, wait a second, I got it! A Tournament!” Quickly, he picked up the phone and dialed CUC Phys. Ed Building. A few minutes later, he grinned manically and hung up the phone. “Perfect. Now, to bring up a certian team of my liking.” BRING ReBOOT TEAM HERE. WHICH CHARECTERS? BOB, ENZO, BOTH ADULT AND CHILD, ANDREIA, FRICKET, DOT, PHONG. BRING THEM HERE? Y/N YES The familiar burst of silver energy and the sprites appeared. Enzo blinked several times. “Where are we?” He asked. “Not any place I’ve been. Look at it, the place isn’t high tech. Where is all the vid windows? The zip boards? The binomes?” “There not here.” They whirled around to look at him. “You’re outside the computer net. Welcome to the domain of the user.” Jaws dropped and facefaulting occured. Dot got up and stared at the young man. “You’re the user?” “Absolutely. but not your user. There are hundreds of users in the world, I’m just one of them.” Shaun said. “Oh my. We’re outside a computer. This is totally impossible!” AndreIA said. “And I’ve brought you here for the Tournament.” “Will we be able to ReBoot?” Bob asked. “Yes. The Tournament is going to be attended by the people I accedentally brought here. You all know the rules of a fighting game so I’ll bring out screens which you can change to forms with no major repercussions.” “When will the Tournament be held?” “In two days. I suggest you train for it. It can get quite vigirous.” Two days later, the CUC gym was packed with Student spectators. At the sides, there was benches, lined with Spectators. In the middle, was a circular ring with magic barriers and barriers around it, only allowing the fighters to enter. Around the circular ring was benches and warm up areas for all 14 fighting teams with Urd, Sasami, Washu, Ryo-Ohki, Lum, Ataru and Aerith all helping with the refreshments, music and coaching. To the middle, was a scoreboard, in a circular screen, showing the teams lined up for the elimination tournament. Inside the ring, out of the way, were 12 charecters from shows like Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter Alpha III, Battle Arena Toshiden and X-Men for the Reboot charecters to change into. Shaun breathed in deeply as he took up the microphone and strolled into the middle of the ring. The lights dimmed as lights illuminated around the ring, trained on Shaun. “LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, TODAY, IS THE CHANCE TO SEE MARTIAL ARTISTS, MAGIC USERS, AND FIGHTERS BATTLE IT OUT FOR THE TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP! CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER!” Suddenly, heavy music from Mortal Kombat started to play. CHRONO TRIGGER VS. GARO DENTSU FIGHTERS : CRONO ANDY BOGARD FIGHT! Crono and Andy circled, Andy’s fists up in defencive position, Crono’s bokken in upright position. Suddenly Crono rushed foward, cutting downward with the weapon. Andy blocked and retaliated by sweeping Crono’s feet out from under him. Cron sprung up and flipped backwards. “Spincut.” he muttered. He streaked foward, stopping short and leapt into the air, spinning around and brought his bokken down hard on Andy’s head. Andy stumbled backwards as Crono tagged him again and again. Andy reached out and grabbed the bokken, driving a foot, folowed by a multipunch attack which left Crono gasping for air. Andy then did a vicious spin, fists outstretched. Crono saw this through the haze of his sight and raised his arms. “Lightning.” The bolt of lightning streaked down, frying the martial artist. Andy fell down, charcoaled. CRONO WINS ROUND 2 FIGHT “I won’t go easy on you this time kid.” Andy said. Crono smirked and replied, saying that he beat Lavos and could easily whip his butt any time of the day. Andy steamed as he rushed foward, his elbow outstretched. He connected solidly and Crono fell to his back. In a lightning move, Crono found his bokken to his throat. “You’re getting slow kid.” Daniel, head judge, was a bit off in the head as he laughed manically and punched the barrier drop on and off. John stared at him. “You okay Daniel?” Daniel stopped laughing. “Absolutely. Round two ends.” He picked up the microphone. “FINISH HIM.” Andy raised Crono up by the shoulders and slammed the swordsman into the mat. Hard. ANDY BOGARD WINS ROUND 3 FIGHT Crono groaned in pain. He yelled out a battle cry and one single word : “Cyclone!” He jumped into the air in a straight line, spinning like a top, bokken outstretched and lightning energy rippling from the sword. Andy held up his hands and went into his spinning backhand. The two tornados of power clashed together, sending winds of high power, debrie lashing at the barriers. People held their coats and hats from blowing away as the winds died down. When it stopped, the pair of them were laying on their backs, gasping for air, lungs heaving. “You know, you’re not making this easy.” Andy commented. Crono just nodded in agreement. TIE POINTS EQUAL OUT ENDURANCE MATCH CHOOSE NEW PLAYER FROM TEAMS FIGHTERS : LUCCA VS. MAI SHIRANUI FIRST ONE TO PASS OUT LOOSES READY ROUND 1 FIGHT! “Mai Shrianui from the school of the Ninjitsu school.” “Lucca from Guardia.” Lucca tossed aside her satchel and withdrew a hammer. “Lets rock.” Mai launched herself into the air and tossed off several dozen fans which Lucca deftly blocked. Lucca jumped up and brought her hammer down hard on Mai’s head. Mai reeled from the impact and stumbled a bit. Lucca landed and held up her arms. “Fire2!” Red energy colaced in the center of the ring and expanded outward, exploding around the area. Mai stumbled, holding her head. “That does it!” She charged and swung her hair around in a chi charged whip. Lucca was flung back into the magical barriers, knocked out. Mai flipped open her fan in her I’m-number-one pose and laughed. GARO DENSTSU WINS. Chapter 5 : Finish Line Shaun was near the end of his creativity. For over two months, he was sucked clean of his creative muse and had to spend some time on another story to remove his mental block. But now, he was finished the story. Well, only half a chapter to go but he could finish it. Setting his fingers over the keyboard, he started to write...but the whole house shook with another impact. His eyes narrowed in annoyance. Outside, the residents of the Garin home were getting VERY restless again. They were blasting more and more logs into tiny chips, in 20 degree below weather. Again. For the hundredth time. “Hey you guys, you’re all getting restless, ne? So why don’t I give you a story to go to and try to beat it before I finish it?” The men were pleasantly surprised and readily agreed. The women on the other hand were not so, but still agreed. Shaun grinned devilishly. Here was a chance to get them out of his hair and finished the story. “Just remember, you all asked for this.” They all disapeared in a flash of light save for some of the female charecters. Washu leant over his shoulder and stared at the screen. “Hmm...The Holy Sword Volume I eh? Who are they fighting?” “Kain,” he replied as he brought out another file to finish the story. “...” Washu was, for once, speechless. “I think I should bring them back, huh? It’s getting late.” A swift command brought back the now extremely nervous group. Some were twitching and others were staring into space. “That...tha...that...” Akane stuttered. “That,” Shaun prompted. “That...” “Was not human, I know. But anyways, I finished the story. Just need to type in THE END. Now if you’ll excuse me... ACK!” Akane had grasped the writer by the throat, and started to throttle him viciously. “WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING SENDING US TO SUCH A DANGEROUS PLACE?! DO YOU REALIZE WE COULD HAVE DIED THERE?!” Shaun thought for a second and said through gasps of air, “Blame my muse.” Two months later in Nerima district... “Man its good to be back.” Ranma leaned on the dojo wall, listening to the comforting sounds of the fighting around him. Suddenly, in the midst of the fighting, a young man was spit out of a wormhole. Ranma paled. Shaun Garin had arrived. “Hey, what’s up?” he asked, while tinkering with a device in his hand. Noticing Ukyou, Ranma and Akane’s murderous stares, he sweatdropped and asked, “Ano... is something wrong?” As they laid into him, he could only think, ‘When I get to that universe, my baka self’ll have hell to pay.’ Fins After several months of putting it off, I finally finished. You found that I was working diligently on the Chronicles of Light and A Simple Wish for most of the time. Anyways, its done and I’m exhausted. Oh, and for all of you out there who are fans of Star Trek : Universes, I’m still pondering what to do next. Gomen nasai, its been too long. Shaun Garin - Carrier of the Triforce of Courage and all around great guy....um, scratch that.
